Ghana Athletics has officially announced a five-man roster for the upcoming World Athletics Relays, set to take place next month in Gaborone.
The squad features a blend of experience and speed, headlined by veteran sprinters Benjamin Azamati, Abdul-Rasheed Saminu, and Joseph Paul Amoah. Joining them are Isaac Botsio and Ibrahim Fuseini as the nation prepares to compete on the global stage.
The prestigious event in Botswana will host over 700 athletes from approximately 40 countries. It serves as a vital qualification route for both the 2027 World Athletics Championships and the 2026 World Ultimate Championships.
Ghana enters the competition following a strong performance at the previous World Championships, where the men’s relay team established a new national record and secured a fourth-place finish. The team aims to build on that momentum and further solidify its status as a top contender in international relay events.
