The Embassy of Ghana in Qatar has announced plans to carry out an emergency evacuation exercise for Ghanaian nationals residing in the country amid rising security concerns in the Middle East.

In a notice dated March 15, 2026, the embassy said the evacuation will be a one-way arrangement from Qatar to Ghana. The move follows an earlier communication issued on March 6, 2026, regarding the evolving security situation in the region.

Ghanaians in Qatar who wish to be evacuated have been urged to reconfirm their interest by submitting the biodata pages of their passports via email to doha@mfa.gov.gh.

The embassy indicated that all required information must be sent no later than Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

According to the embassy, the exercise is being organised as a precautionary measure in response to heightened security developments across parts of the Middle East. The announcement comes as several countries review contingency plans to safeguard their citizens abroad.
