The Parliamentary Committee on Works and Housing has directed the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources to re-examine the shareholding agreement related to the stalled Saglemi Housing Project.
The directive followed a meeting between the Committee, officials from the Ministry, and contractors involved in the project to assess its current status and progress toward completion.
During the meeting, the Acting Director of Housing at the Ministry, Chris Pobee Abbey, briefed the Committee on ongoing works, outlining the roadmap and timelines for completing the remaining phases of the housing project.
Chairman of the Committee, Vincent Oppong Asamoah, commended the Ministry for efforts made to revive the project but stressed the need to review the shareholding agreement. He also urged the Ministry to keep the Committee fully informed throughout the process and assured them of the Committee’s support.
Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources, Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, assured members that the Ministry would provide regular updates on developments and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to completing the project for the benefit of the Ghanaian public.
