The Ghana Police Service has arrested three suspects in Odumase Laasi after uncovering 105 bundles of suspected counterfeit United States dollar notes.
The operation led to the discovery of the illicit currency concealed within a metal trunk. Following the seizure, one of the suspects allegedly offered the officers a bribe of GH¢200,000 “in a bid to evade arrest.”
The police rejected the money and took the individuals into custody. The suspects are currently being held at the Odumase Krobo police station, where they are assisting with investigations.
Authorities are now working to establish the origin of the suspected fake notes and track their intended circulation.
