The National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (NASPAWAP) has announced an upward adjustment in the price of sachet water, effective Monday, April 6, citing escalating production expenses driven by global supply disruptions.

In a statement released on April 2, the association attributed the increase largely to a sharp rise in the cost of raw materials, particularly polymers, which have been affected by instability in international markets. NASPAWAP noted that the ongoing conflict in Iran has contributed to shortages of essential inputs, placing significant pressure on local producers.

Under the new pricing structure, the ex-factory price for a bag of 30 sachets (500ml each) will be set at GH¢8, while the ex-truck price is fixed at GH¢10. The maximum retail price has been capped at GH¢15 per bag.

NASPAWAP has urged distributors, retailers, and consumers to adhere to the revised pricing, emphasizing that the increment is necessary to sustain production and ensure the continuous supply of safe drinking water.
