Oti Regional Minister, John Kwadwo Gyapong has reported that six people, including three children, have been killed in attacks by assailants hiding in bushes in Nkwanta South.

In an interview on March 27, Gyapong said the attackers ambush residents in farms and remote bush areas, creating widespread fear. A recent incident involved a young boy found dead while grazing his father’s cattle.

He suggested that the killings appear to be a deliberate effort by certain groups to assert control over land and restrict others from accessing it.

The violence has mainly occurred in isolated areas, indicating a calculated strategy to intimidate locals and reinforce territorial claims.

Gyapong described the situation as deeply concerning and called for urgent measures to restore peace and security in the region
