The Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF) has carried out a needs assessment at Holy Family Hospital in Techiman as part of its evaluation of referral health facilities in the newly created regions.

The visit, which marked the second day of the assessment exercise, is part of broader initiatives to improve access to specialized healthcare services across Ghana.

Holy Family Hospital, a secondary health facility operating under the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG), serves as an important healthcare provider not only in Bono East Region but also in neighboring areas.

The facility delivers specialized medical services to patients from Bono, Ashanti, and Savannah regions, positioning it as a significant referral center in the country’s middle belt.

Hospital records show that the facility handles approximately 750 outpatient department (OPD) cases each day on average, demonstrating its critical role in addressing healthcare demands of an expanding population.

The substantial daily patient numbers highlight the necessity for continued investment in the hospital’s infrastructure, medical equipment, and specialized service offerings.

The GMTF team evaluated the hospital’s current facilities during the visit and engaged in talks with hospital management about building an effective partnership.

Discussions centered on pinpointing key areas where the Fund’s support could improve service delivery and patient care outcomes.

The Ghana Medical Trust Fund expressed its willingness to collaborate with Holy Family Hospital to bolster its capabilities and provide quality, specialized treatment to patients, especially those suffering from chronic non-communicable diseases.

The Fund emphasized its dedication to creating meaningful impact by guaranteeing fair access to essential healthcare services throughout all of Ghana’s regions.
