President Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe is scheduled to arrive in Ghana on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, for a three-day State Visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.

According to a statement released Tuesday by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, President Mnangagwa will be received at the Accra International Airport by President John Dramani Mahama. The arrival ceremony will feature full military honors, including a 21-gun salute and an inspection of the Guard of Honour.

The visit will be highlighted by a State Banquet hosted by President Mahama on Wednesday evening. Following this, the two leaders are scheduled to hold a tête-à-tête and bilateral talks at Peduase Lodge. These discussions will focus on enhancing cooperation in trade, tourism, health, agriculture, sanitation, anti-corruption efforts, and job creation. The engagements are expected to conclude with the signing and exchange of several Memoranda of Understanding.

During his stay, President Mnangagwa will tour the Sweden Ghana Medical Centre (SGMC) and the Accra Compost and Recycling Plant to observe advancements in healthcare and waste management. He will also visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park to lay a wreath at the tomb of Ghana’s first president.

The Zimbabwean leader is expected to depart on Friday, April 3, following formal departure honors at the Jubilee Lounge. The visit is intended to solidify diplomatic relations and foster new areas of collaboration between Accra and Harare.
