The Commonwealth Games Association of Ghana (CGA) has named a 40-member “High-Performance Squad” to represent the nation at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
The roster features the return of sprinter Benjamin Azamati and athlete Mustapha Bokpin, both of whom missed the African Senior Athletics Championships in May. They will join fellow men’s relay team members Joseph Paul Amoah, Abdul Rasheed-Saminu, and James Dadzie, who have all secured spots on the team. National high jump record holder Rose Yeboah is also included in the contingent. Notably, Deborah Acquah remains excluded from the lineup, marking a long-term absence since she last competed for Ghana at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest.
The selected squad has advanced to its final preparatory phase, which includes intensified training, sports science support, and international-standard performance programs. In an official statement, the CGA called upon Ghanaians globally to “rally behind Team Ghana as they embark on the journey to Glasgow with determination, unity, and the ambition of bringing home medals and making the nation proud.”
