An Accra High Court has granted bail in the sum of GH¢100,000 to social media blogger Abdul Gafaru Sani, popularly known as Webkid, after more than six weeks in detention.
Webkid, who is also a supporter of dancehall artiste Shatta Wale, is standing trial over allegations of publishing false information and engaging in offensive conduct on social media targeting musician Stonebwoy and members of his family.
According to court documents, the accused faces six charges, including publication of false news under the Electronic Communications Act and conduct likely to breach the peace under the Criminal Offences Act.
Prosecutors allege that Webkid shared content on social media that was false, misleading, and capable of causing fear and panic, while also endangering the safety of Stonebwoy and his relatives.
The case is reportedly linked to investigations into the disappearance of videos from Stonebwoy’s YouTube channel, which later led authorities to examine a series of social media posts targeting the musician and his family.
Webkid had previously been denied bail on multiple occasions before the court approved his release on June 22, 2026.
The development has generated public interest, particularly after Shatta Wale publicly defended the blogger following his arrest, arguing that criticism of artistes is part of the entertainment industry.
The case remains before the court as investigations and legal proceedings continue.
