Ghanaian football fans will enjoy live coverage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup following the government’s successful acquisition of television broadcast rights. The deal was finalized through a combination of state efforts and an ongoing national fundraising campaign.

The announcement was made by Kofi Adams during a ceremony where GCB Bank presented a GH¢5 million donation toward the Black Stars’ tournament preparations. This contribution highlights the growing private sector involvement in supporting the national team’s journey to the global stage.

According to the Minister for Sports and Recreation, the collaboration between public institutions and corporate partners was essential in securing the rights for the public.

“Through the support of government and fundraising efforts, we have been able to secure broadcast rights to telecast the World Cup matches live on some of the media stations,” Kofi Adams said.

The fundraising initiative was designed to provide financial stability for the Black Stars as they prepare for the expanded tournament, hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. In addition to team preparation, officials hope the live broadcasts will foster national unity and excitement.

With the tournament approaching, the confirmation of live access serves as a significant boost for supporters across the country.
