The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has announced upward adjustments in the price floors for petrol and LPG for the first pricing window of June 2026, while diesel prices are expected to decline slightly.
According to the latest pricing outlook released by the NPA, the petrol price floor has increased to GH¢15.20 per litre from GH¢14.60 recorded during the second pricing window of May, representing a rise of GH¢0.60.
LPG prices are also set to go up, with the price floor increasing from GH¢13.16 to GH¢13.48 per kilogram, marking a GH¢0.32 increase.
Diesel, however, is expected to see a slight reduction, with the price floor dropping from GH¢15.81 to GH¢15.49 per litre, a decline of GH¢0.32.
The NPA explained that the adjustments reflect developments on the international market and prevailing local market conditions. It added that the approved price floors serve as the minimum retail prices for petroleum products and must be adhered to by Oil Marketing Companies and LPG Marketing Companies.
The latest changes follow a government review of fuel relief measures introduced to cushion consumers against rising fuel prices linked to tensions in the Middle East.
As part of the revised measures, government has removed the GH¢0.36 per litre subsidy on petrol and reduced the GH¢2.00 per litre support on diesel to GH¢1.07 per litre.
The revised intervention is expected to remain in place for two pricing windows, subject to further review depending on market conditions.
