The National Service Authority has given assurances that all outstanding stipends owed to service personnel will be settled before the end of this week, attributing the current delay to an ongoing verification exercise by the Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems Limited (GhIPSS).
In a press release issued on February 17, 2026, the Authority said the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department had already released funds covering two months’ worth of allowances the previous week. However, the disbursement has been held up pending the completion of a mandatory verification process by GhIPSS, which the NSA says must be finalized to guarantee financial accuracy and integrity before payments are made to personnel accounts.
The Authority stressed that stipends are central to the welfare of personnel throughout their service year and that every eligible individual is entitled to receive their payments without undue delay.

Director-General Ruth Dela Seddoh acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the delay and commended personnel for their patience. “Your service to the nation remains deeply valued and appreciated,” she said, adding that all verified arrears would be cleared by the close of the week.
The NSA appealed for continued patience while the verification process is concluded, reiterating its commitment to prompt and accurate payment of allowances to all legitimate national service personnel.
