Police have arrested a man seen in a viral Facebook video physically assaulting a woman believed to be his wife at their residence in Ofankor, in the Ga East Municipality.
The suspect, identified as John Odartey Lamptey, was picked up on Monday, November 17, 2025, at the family home. This was confirmed in a statement issued and signed by Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo, Public Relations Officer of the Criminal Investigation Department.
Police say two of his siblings — Grace Kushie Lamptey and Louis Odartey Lamptey — were also arrested after they attempted to attack a female tenant they suspected of recording and circulating the video. The tenant was rescued and placed under protection to ensure her safety.
