University of Illinois graduate student Rose Yeboah captured her first Big Ten Indoor Championships gold medal in the high jump on Saturday at the Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion.
The Ghanaian Olympian, who competed in the Paris 2022 Games, cleared 1.87m (6-1 1/2) to secure the title. Yeboah’s efficient performance required only four attempts to clinch the win, making her the sixth individual in the University of Illinois program’s history to become a Big Ten high jump champion.
Yeboah’s victory contributed to a strong showing for the Illini women’s squad. She was one of six women from the university to earn gold, helping the team score 93 points to finish in second place for the second consecutive season.
The Kumasi Girls Senior High School alumna continues to build on a decorated collegiate career. During the 2025 indoor season, Yeboah was an:
-
NCAA All-American
-
Second-Team All-Big Ten selection
-
NCAA Championships qualifier

Last season, she placed sixth at the NCAA Indoor Championships with a clearance of 1.85m (6-0 3/4). By securing All-America honors in consecutive seasons, the former GUSA champion joins Stacy Ann Grant (1997–1999) as the only high jumpers in program history to achieve that feat.
