The Ghana Education Service (GES) has debunked a viral social media claim alleging that floodwaters destroyed some West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) papers and that affected candidates would be required to rewrite the examinations.
The widely circulated statement claimed that heavy rains on June 29 washed away examination papers, making them unavailable for the ongoing examinations, and suggested that GES was preparing a revised timetable for affected candidates.
GES has described the statement as false and urged the public to disregard it, stressing that no such announcement has been made.
The Service also advised students, parents and the general public to verify information before sharing it and to rely only on official GES communication channels for accurate updates on the ongoing WASSCE examinations.
