An independent researcher and financial economist, Dr Evans Duah, says Kennedy Ohene Agyapong is the only aspirant in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential race likely to secure more than 50 per cent plus one vote in the party’s upcoming flagbearer primaries scheduled for January 31.

Dr Duah said his assessment is based on findings from a recent survey conducted among party delegates to gauge voting patterns ahead of the contest. According to him, while the race remains competitive among the five aspirants, current data show that Mr Agyapong is the only candidate with sufficient delegate support to cross the threshold required for an outright victory.

He rejected claims that the survey was biased or designed to favour any candidate, stressing that he personally funded the research without support from any of the aspirants.

Dr Duah noted that the results position the former Assin Central Member of Parliament as the frontrunner in the race, as the NPP undertakes its reorganisation efforts following its defeat in the 2024 general elections and prepares for a return to power in 2028.
