With exactly 100 days remaining until the kickoff of the World Cup, former Black Stars call-up Danlad Ibrahim has called for national unity and expressed high hopes for Ghana’s upcoming campaign.
Speaking in an interview with Akoma 87.9 FM, the goalkeeper emphasized the importance of team spirit, respect, and faith as the squad prepares for the global stage.
Ibrahim specifically highlighted his respect for fellow goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, praising his professionalism both on and off the field. Ibrahim noted that his role is to support rather than critique his colleague.
“Benjamin Asare is my senior, so it wouldn’t be right for me to advise him. I can only seek God’s luck, favor, and strength for him, to protect him from any disgrace or injuries. I really admire his conduct both on and off the pitch, and I pray that he performs exceptionally well for Ghana in the tournament,” Ibrahim stated.
Beyond individual performances, Ibrahim urged the Ghanaian public to provide unwavering encouragement to the entire squad. He maintained that the Black Stars possess the same potential as any other powerhouse to make a lasting impact during the tournament.
“Every qualified team has the potential to make history, and Ghana is no different. The team just needs our support, prayers, and encouragement for every player who earns a spot in the final squad. I am very confident that the team will make both Ghana and themselves proud,” he added.
Ibrahim’s reflections serve as a reminder of the critical role that collective support and internal harmony play as the countdown to the Mundial enters its final stretch.
