Relationship counsellor Cyril George Lutterodt, widely known as Counsellor Lutterodt, is set to appear in court on Wednesday, 11 March 2026, following his arrest over comments authorities say could incite public unrest.

Lutterodt reportedly called on Ga youth to exhume the body of late highlife legend Daddy Lumba, claiming the musician had been buried at an unauthorised location on Ga land in East Legon. He argued that the burial disrespected local customs and traditional authorities and urged what he described as immediate corrective action.

His remarks, captured in a circulating video, triggered widespread backlash on social media and drew criticism from members of the public who described the comments as insensitive and inflammatory.

The Ghana Police Service subsequently arrested Lutterodt for questioning as part of ongoing investigations.

He has been charged with offensive conduct conducive to a breach of the peace under Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29) and is also expected to face an additional charge of inciting violence under the Criminal Offences Act and the Public Order Act, 1994 (Act 491).
