President John Dramani Mahama has announced that Cabinet has directed the Attorney-General, Dominic Ayine, to draft a new State Assets Protection Bill aimed at safeguarding public property and ensuring greater accountability in the management of state resources.

According to the President, the proposed legislation will establish clear guidelines governing the disposal of state assets, including lands, buildings, factories, industries, and other public properties. The move is intended to prevent the arbitrary disposal of state-owned assets by any government.

President Mahama also revealed that Cabinet has approved the National Ethics and Anti-Corruption Plan 2026–2030, a policy framework designed to strengthen the country’s anti-corruption efforts over the next five years.

He said the approval of the plan reflects the government’s commitment to promoting transparency, enhancing accountability, and rebuilding public confidence in public institutions.
