Eric Alagidede has resigned as General Manager of Accra Great Olympics, bringing an end to his eight-month tenure at the club.

The football administrator’s departure, which takes effect immediately, has come as a surprise to supporters and officials, particularly given the timing during an important phase of the campaign. While the specific circumstances leading to his exit have not been made public, sources indicate his decision was influenced by administrative difficulties facing the Division One League outfit.

Alagidede took up the role on July 11, 2025, tasked with leading a comprehensive restructuring effort following the club’s drop from the Ghana Premier League. His recruitment was viewed as a significant acquisition, given his standing as one of the nation’s emerging football management talents.

He had previously distinguished himself at Nsoatreman FC, where his organizational contributions were instrumental in the club’s development and operational consistency. He had also held the position of Director of Communications at Karela United, enhancing his credentials in Ghanaian football administration.

In his brief period with Olympics, Alagidede oversaw initiatives to reorganize the club’s sporting structure, strengthen administrative processes, and rebuild competitive capacity in their bid to regain top-flight status.

Despite these efforts, the former Ghana Premier League winners twice over have found form elusive since dropping down two campaigns ago along with Bofoakwa Tano and Real Tamale United. Rather than mounting a serious promotion challenge, the Dade Boys are currently positioned toward the bottom of the Division One League standings, facing the risk of further relegation.
