The Ministry of Health has suspended Fredrick Anaba, Principal of the College of Nursing at Nkanchina, over allegations of admitting more students than the approved quota and introducing unapproved academic programmes.

The suspension comes after the Ministry launched a full administrative investigation into the alleged irregularities. Mr Anaba had earlier been issued a query on February 19, 2026, concerning the institution’s admissions for the 2025/2026 academic year.

Following a review of his response, the Ministry determined that a more comprehensive probe was required to establish the facts surrounding the admissions process and programme approvals.

In the meantime, Mr Anaba has been directed to hand over management responsibilities to the Acting Vice Principal to ensure the smooth administration of the college during the investigation.

The Ministry of Health reiterated its commitment to enforcing strict compliance with admission quotas and approved academic programmes across all health training institutions in order to maintain academic and professional standards.

Further updates are expected once the administrative investigation is concluded. The announcement was made in a statement issued on March 12 by Isaac Ofei Baah, Head of Public Relations at the Ministry of Health.
