The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Elections Committee says it will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), also referred to as a Peace Pact, with all five presidential aspirants ahead of the Party’s primaries scheduled for January 31, 2026.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Thursday, the Chairman of the Committee, Mr Joseph Osei-Owusu, said the agreement was intended to promote unity, transparency, and confidence in the electoral process.

He said the Committee would provide the aspirants with a provisional voter register album on November 13, 2025, which would later be exhibited at voting centres nationwide.

Mr Osei-Owusu said the Committee had outlined several measures to ensure credibility and inclusiveness. These include engagements with former Presidents, the Party’s Council of Elders, the Electoral Commission, and the Ghana Police Service.

He added that the Committee would hold bi-weekly meetings with accredited representatives of the aspirants to address concerns and maintain open lines of communication.

Mr Osei-Owusu, a former First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, urged party supporters and stakeholders to exercise restraint and avoid circulating unverified information that could undermine the process.

He reaffirmed the Committee’s commitment to delivering a free, fair, and transparent primary election, adding that the Peace Pact would bind all aspirants to uphold the integrity of the contest and preserve party unity.

The five aspirants are Mr Ken Ohene Agyapong, Dr Bryan Acheampong, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum and Mr Kwabena Agyei Agyepong.
