Viktoria Plzeň forward Prince Adu Kwabena has expressed his ambition to secure a place in Ghana’s final squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup, describing the opportunity as a potential career milestone.

The 22-year-old striker, who debuted for the Black Stars in November 2025 during friendlies against Japan and South Korea, has maintained his momentum by starting in recent warm-up fixtures against Austria and Germany. Kwabena has enjoyed a productive club season in Czechia, netting eight goals across all competitions for Viktoria Plzeň.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with JoySports, Kwabena emphasized the magnitude of the tournament.

“It will be a great opportunity for me and I will be so excited,” he said. “[World Cup] is not a small thing, not every player gets a chance to play [at the competition]. It would be one of the biggest achievements in my career. I am going to focus on my club form and keep working hard to get on the list.”

The forward’s push for a spot comes during a period of transition for the national team. While Otto Addo handed Kwabena his initial call-up, the team is now led by Portuguese manager Carlos Queiroz. Queiroz has until June 1 to finalize his roster for the expanded 48-team tournament.

Ghana has been drawn into Group L, where they are scheduled to face England, Croatia, and Panama.
