An unidentified body has been recovered in the Alogboshie area of Accra following the severe flooding caused by recent heavy rains. The body was discovered on Wednesday, July 1, after floodwaters began to recede, although the circumstances surrounding the person’s death have not yet been established.

The recovery comes in the wake of Monday’s torrential downpour, which left several parts of Accra flooded, submerging roads, inundating homes, and stranding commuters. The body was awaiting police removal to the mortuary at the time of reporting.

The latest discovery adds to the 12 flood-related deaths already confirmed by the Ghana National Fire Service, highlighting the devastating impact of the floods across the capital.
