Three hundred suspects have been arrested by the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Armed Forces in an ongoing joint security operation across parts of the Ahafo Region.
The coordinated exercise, which spans communities including Hwidiem, Kenyasi, Goaso, and Mehame, is aimed at combating crime, maintaining public order, and ensuring community safety.
Police sources say the operation targeted individuals believed to be involved in recent attacks on members of the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS), journalists, police officers, and officials of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
The suspects are currently assisting with investigations, while the joint team continues to pursue others connected to the disturbances.
