The Government and organised labour have agreed on a nine per cent increase in base pay on the Single Spine Salary Structure for the 2026 calendar year.

The adjustment, which takes effect from January 1 to December 31, 2026, was concluded on Sunday, November 9, following negotiations that began on October 31.

A communique was signed by Dr George Smith-Graham, Executive Director of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, and Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, Minister of Finance, on behalf of Government. Mr Joshua Ansah, Secretary-General of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), and Dr Isaac Bampoe Addo, Executive Secretary of CLOGSAG, signed for organised labour.

According to the agreement, Government committed to continued engagement with the unions on outstanding conditions of service issues. Both sides also pledged to maintain regular dialogue on matters relating to the management of the economy.
