The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has confirmed the seizure and freezing of assets valued at more than GH₵100 million and US$100,000 in connection with the ongoing prosecution of former National Petroleum Authority (NPA) Chief Executive, Dr Mustapha Abdul Hamid, and others.

In a statement, the OSP said the preserved assets include real estate properties, fuel stations, and logistics vehicles believed to be linked to an alleged extortion and money laundering scheme.

It said additional assets were still being traced as part of continuing investigations.

The OSP noted that the action was in line with its mandate under the Office of the Special Prosecutor Act, 2017 (Act 959), which empowers the institution to freeze and seize suspected proceeds of corruption pending the final determination of a case by the court.
