Three people have been confirmed dead following the collapse of an uncompleted four-story building at the Experimental D/A School in Accra New Town on Sunday afternoon.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded to the scene at 5:00 p.m. on March 29, 2026, where a total of 23 individuals, comprising 15 females and eight males, including three minors, were trapped under the debris.

Rescuers from the GNFS and partner agencies successfully pulled 20 survivors from the wreckage. Those rescued were transported to various medical facilities for treatment. However, the GNFS confirmed that two females and one male died in the incident. Their remains have been transferred to the police for preservation and investigation.
Security and rescue teams remain at the site to clear the remaining rubble and secure the area. In a statement released on its Facebook page, the GNFS praised the professionalism and commitment of the responders.

“We also express appreciation to all supporting agencies for their coordination and support. Our deepest condolences go to the bereaved families, and we wish the injured a speedy recovery,” the statement said.
